The SP Winter Response is Dunlop's Studless Ice & Snow tire developed for the drivers of small cars looking to enhance their vehicle's wintertime traction. Designed to answer the varying demands of winter driving, the SP Winter Response delivers balanced performance on wet, snow and ice-covered roads.
SP Winter Response tires feature a high silica tread compound that retains elasticity at low temperatures to increase traction on ice and snow. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern design that dedicates specific areas to perform specific tasks resulting in a good balance of wet, snow and ice driving properties. The tread design features circumferential and lateral groves, as well as two sipe designs to increase the number of biting edges to enhance traction, braking and cornering in snow and on ice.
The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally-wound nylon on top of a polyester casing featuring Dunlop Touch Technology, a set of advanced features that give drivers a better feel for the road surface.
The SP Winter Response meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.
Install SP Winter Response tires in sets of four only.
Due to the traction capabilities of the SP Winter Response, Dunlop recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
UTQG: Uniform Tire Quality Grading Standards do not apply to winter tires.

Dunlop
Dunlop Tires is owned by Goodyear, Continental and Sumitomo. Dunlop was founded by John Boyd Dunlop in Ireland.
created: 1890a
world's 5th largest tire manufacturer
1888 John Boyd Dunlop's son has difficulty riding a tricycle. He rides it because he has a bad cold, for which the doctor has prescribed a very unusual treatment: cycling. To make the child's ride more comfortable, Boyd installs canvas tires glued with liquid rubber on his tricycle. Boyd patents what turns out to be a very great idea.
In 1889, cyclist Willie Hume was the first to use Boyd's invention in racing and won a number of events. This was the beginning of Dunlop's legendary racing.
1902 Dunlop wins the grueling Paris-Vienna race.
The first Dunlop tire in 1922, using steel rods and canvas, provides three times the service life of other tires used to date
