Nokian Hakkapeliitta 01 is a premium studded tire introduced in 2026, developed for the difficult winter conditions of the Nordic countries. The tire's most important innovation is the automatically adaptive stud technology, which combines strong ice grip, stable handling and reduced road wear.

The Hakkapeliitta 01 uses Nokian's innovative Double Action Stud Technology , which allows the studs to operate in a temperature-dependent manner. In cold conditions, a special rubber compound under the studs provides stronger contact with the icy road surface. In warmer weather, the compound becomes more elastic, reducing the impact of the studs on the asphalt.
The technology operates automatically and does not require any driver intervention. It aims to provide good ice grip when it is needed most and reduce wear on the road surface caused by studs in milder conditions.
